TNR: a little action, lasting care
When are cats easier to spot?
Try around dawn or dusk: many cats are more active then. This is a general tendency, not a guarantee. A particular cat may follow a different routine; check its recent sightings and ask its regular carer.
Observe first; arrange the clinic first
Find out when this cat normally comes to eat. Plan with its carers and an experienced TNR team, and book the clinic before trapping. Capture, transport and recovery arrangements must fit the appointment. Follow the clinic’s individual fasting instructions.
Heat changes the plan
Avoid planned trapping during extreme heat. Never leave a set trap unattended, in direct sun, on hot pavement or in a hot parked car. Have a cool, climate-controlled place ready and move a trapped cat there promptly. Check the forecast for recovery and return as well.
TNR means Trap–Neuter–Return. Participation needs coordination with experienced local carers and a veterinary team. You can help with transport, appointments or follow-up. Detailed capture and recovery instructions require local professional review.
